Ernestine Shepherd is my new motivation for healthy and fit living. This 72-year-old, 5-foot-5, 125lb. retired schoolteacher decided to get in shape at age 56. She works out 5 days a week incorporating cardio and weight training into her routine and eats a diet high in protein, low fat, and balanced carbohydrates. Her favorite form of cardio is power walking, which she does two hours a day and four hours on Saturday. Mrs. Shepherd offers the follow tips for “Keeping Trim”:
Be determined, dedicated and disciplined to be fit. Do weight training and cardio at least three times a week.
Get plenty of rest and sleep.
Control weight by not eating fours hours before you go to bed .
Drink 10 to 12 glasses of water a day.
