Are You Prepared For Greatness?

From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.-Luke 12:48
In the pursuit of greatness, the strive toward success, the focus is generally on the expected outcome and not the journey along the way. The gloriousness of the intended goal sometimes clouds the impending sacrifice that is required to obtain that goal. In the Gospel of Mark, Mark describes Jesus as one who came to "give his life as a ransom for many," (Mark 10:45) and who was crucified for the redemption of mankind. Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in prison for standing against apartheid in South Africa, later to become President of a Democratic South Africa. Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated because of his stance on civil and social injustice in the U.S. Mohandas Gandhi was imprisoned for many years, on numerous occasions, in both South Africa and India and later assassinated. Gandhi was a practitioner of non-violence and truth and his beliefs included compassion to sentient beings, fasting for self-purification, and mutual tolerance between individuals of different creeds. He was quoted as saying:
"When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall — think of it, always."
The commonality between individuals who achieved greatness is Sacrifice! As you prepare for your journey toward greatness, ask yourself the following questions:

What personal sacrifice are you willing to take to achieve success?
Who are you willing to sacrifice for?
Does your dream of success only benefit you?
Who will be impacted by your greatness?
Are you prepared to lose in order to gain?
Are you willing to sacrifice your desires so that someone else can achieve success?
Destine for Greatness, see you when I get there!

What a great article. Many people don't want to sacrifice to achieve greatness. They want everything to be easy and handed to them. As motivational speaker Les Brown says, "You gotta be hungry!"
