You're Beautiful!

Flipping through a popular magazine while waiting to purchase groceries, or channel surfing to find Dancing with the Stars, I’m often frustrated with the bombardment of images of frail thin women selling everything from lipstick to shampoo. We're trained to believe that a size 14 is the entry gate to Plus-Sized Kingdom. Our society portrayal of beauty is flawed and doesn’t represent the average women. Despite society’s flawed expectation of what makes a woman beautiful, every woman possesses the true essence of beauty. Beautiful is your smile, your personality, your ability to love and take care of your family, to cherish your self-worth, unwavering integrity and character, to stay poised and strong during turbulent circumstances. Beauty defined is excellent and wonderful! All women despite race, size, shape, age, or economic class can live up to those expectations.

What size is the "Average" woman?

The average American woman is 5'4", weighs 140 lbs, and wears a size 14 dress. The "ideal" woman--portrayed by models, Miss America, Barbie dolls, and screen actresses--is 5'7", weighs 100 lbs, and wears a size 8.

One-third of all American women wear a size 16 or larger.75% of American women are dissatisfied with their appearance.

50% of American women are on a diet at any one time.

You're an unique original design by God! Flaunt your flaws, embrace your natural beauty, and know that You are Beautiful!
